Dr. J. Woody Forbes, D.D.S.,
M.S.
Dr.
Forbes graduated from the University of Tennessee in 1964, with a Master's
Degree in Orthodontics. He is a Past President of the Tennessee
Association of Orthodontists, and is a member of both the American Dental
Association and the American Association of Orthodontists. Dr Forbes is
also specially trained in head, neck, and facial pain, and is a Diplomate of
both the American Academy of Pain Management and the Atlanta Craniomandibular
Society.
During the Spring and Summer, you
will often find Dr. Forbes at the golf course, where he is an eleven
handicap. An avid sportsman, he spends much of his free time during Fall
and Winter hunting waterfowl. He is also a flying enthusiast and is a
board member of the McKellar-Sipes Regional Airport Authority.
Dr. Dan Merwin, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr.
Merwin is a 1997 graduate of the University of Tennessee, Department of
Orthodontics. He holds M.S. degrees in both Orthodontics and Head and Neck
Anatomy, the
latter received from Ohio State University in 1994. A member of the
American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists, Dr.
Merwin received the Award for Exceptional Interest in the Development of the Oro-Facial
Complex from the AAO in 1994.
Dr. Merwin's interests include sports, especially basketball
and golf, computers, and 1970's music. On days off, you can find him
relaxing at the pool with his wife, Caroline, and his two boys, Nick and Alex.
Dr. James Youmans, D.D.S.,
M.S.
Dr.
Youmans attended the University of Tennessee, and is a 1965 graduate of the UT Department of Orthodontics.
He is a member of the American Dental Association and the American Association
of Orthodontists. Dr. Youmans has advanced training in head, neck and
facial pain, and was awarded Diplomate status in the American Academy of Pain
Management and the Atlanta Craniomandibular Society. He is also a member
of the American Academy of Head, Neck and Facial Pain, and TMJ Orthopedics.
An avid
outdoorsman, Dr. Youmans favorite hobbies include hunting and fishing. He
is a boating enthusiast, and he often escapes to his cabin at the Tennessee
River during his time off.
Dr. Preston Miller, D.D.S., M.S.
Dr. Miller joined FMY Orthodontics in
June. He is a Memphis native and a graduate of Washington and Lee
University,
the University of Tennessee Dental School, and the UT Orthodontic Department.
He is a member of the
American Dental Association and the American Association of Orthodontists and
received brilliant recommendations from his chairman and all of his instructors
at UT.
Dr. Miller
enjoys all sports, especially golf, tennis, and basketball. He is an
accomplished pianist and enjoys reading and watching sports. His
wife of three years, Allison, is an optometrist with Toyosvision Eye Care.
